«A Brasileira»

The first vase created entirely within the walls of the studio by the ocean. Now it looks like the mask of an “iron lady”, but in fact it was made under the impression of a “return to the roots”, the image of women who shaped pots thousands of years ago. I wanted to go all the way and see what would happen if I accepted the challenge and made it without light, water or a table, not waiting for the renovation of the workshop to finish. I created a texture from ground stones brought from a journey across Brazil, from a land where petrographs still survive on the cliffs. You could say the past created a support for her future, but in fact she has her own stable base, which only at first glance seems disproportionate for such a large volume.
